Being clever with Artificial Intelligence by Jon Bennion-Pedley

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, is one of the terms that you hear spoken about often, feel you should know more about but maybe don´t really understand. Here´s a wiki definition:

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with a human mind such as learning and problem-solving

But what does that practically mean? Where is AI actually used? And does it work? My favourite AI company at the current time has deployed its AI technology in real-life applications where it is helping to:

·         Scan, recognise, classify and file accurately huge numbers of documents for legal firms and accountants

·         Operate a virtual Doctor´s surgery where triage is done by computer and records are filled before connection to the appropriate specialist for prescription validation

·         Identify people carrying guns or knives through CCTV by the way that they walk and carry themselves

·         Detect objects and spray pesticides more accurately and cost-effectively with a robot than a farmer could ever do

There are lots of opportunities to invest in AI companies that promise they are the next Facebook. They aren´t – there probably won´t ever be another Facebook. But we have clients that have invested in the best AI companies and who are have seen a return of more than 200% on their initial investment.

My favourite AI investment is into a company that own the technology that unifies AI standards, has deployed working solutions in several sectors, and is already profitable after just 2 years of trading. Their fundraising rounds have been over-subscribed and the sale price of their shares has risen from £1 to £9.08.

The chaos around Covid19 is producing some exceptional opportunities. We have 100,000 shares in this business available at the initial price of just £1. These offer the opportunity to get into an established AI business with an exceptional business plan at less than 15% of the current offer price.. The shares are available to investors able to complete a purchase of at least £10,000 before the end of June 2020 but they may not be available for very much longer. For obvious reasons.
